Scar revision and stretch mark treatments camouflage scarring to make it less conspicuous. Prominent scars are hard to ignore, and they make people self-conscious.
Laser scar revision used to be very invasive, and clients went through a lot of pain and down time to get the results they were looking for.
Rita Moldovanos was one of the first laser technicians in Vancouver, and is thrilled that the industry has moved from ablative laser treatments, where the skin is actually lifted off, to non-ablative, which allows the skin to stay intact and instead fills the scar beneath the skin.
Modern non-ablative lasers such as the Lux 1540 Fractional offer better results than ablative lasers, because they penetrate deeper and are suitable for all skin types. The Lux 1540 treats all skin colours without risk of long-term hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) or hypopigmentation (whitening of the skin).
There are many different types of scars, so it is important for us to see the scar before determining the best treatment plan. If you are unable to visit us in person for your first consultation, you are welcome to send us a picture of the scar for an email consultation.
